Linaclotide is a 14-amino-acid peptide agonist of intestinal guanylate cyclase-C approved for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation and chronic idiopathic constipation.

Mechanism of Action

GC-C activation increases intracellular cGMP, driving chloride and bicarbonate secretion and accelerating transit.
